About the Teacher
I believe teaching is my calling, I love it! I truly feel it's what God wants from me. My name is Donna Trentham. My husband is Chris Trentham. We have two beautiful daughters; Emily and Macey, and six amazing grandchildren, 2 granddaughters; Lily and Hallee, and 4 grandsons; Zayne, Greyson, Tripp and Stetson . We also have two energetic Yorkies named Phoebe and Lola.
I graduated from Tellico Plains High School. I earned my 'Bachelor of Science' degree, in Human Learning and Behavior, and my 'master's degree' in Curriculum and Instruction, both from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. I am a Career Ladder 1, and a Level 1 Google Certified teacher.
I taught in Monroe County Schools, for 25 years, in grades 3,4,5,6, and 7. After retiring from MCS, I taught for a 1 ½ years at Cross Creek Christian School. Now I am back, teaching grades 6,7, and 8, part-time at Monroe County Virtual School.
Teaching today is very different from when I began almost 30 years ago. Today, the academic presentation is different, the materials and expectations are different but the one thing that remains the same are the students. Kids will always be kids. They are the real reason all teachers, including myself, love their jobs and continue to teach year after year.
